We had been big fans of artbooks for a long time, and especially the ones from Design Studio Press (scott roberston) like the Skillful Huntsman or Alien Race, books about concept and creative process only. I was just about to start planning book 3 of The Erebus Sequence, but needed something to whet my appetite for the task at hand. I referred to four concept art books which include The Skillful Huntsman, The art of Halo, Exodessey and D'artiste Concept Art. I would recommend picking up The Five C's of Cinemetography to learn about storytelling and composition, and The Skillful Huntsman to get your design gears turning.
